Putri Malu leaves contain flavonoid compounds which function as antibacterials. The aim of this research was to determine the antibacterial activity of the ethanol extract of Putri Malu leaves against the growth of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The method used in this research was extraction of Putri Malu leaves (Mimosa pudica L.) by maceration using 70% ethanol. Test the antibacterial activity using the agar diffusion method with the parameters of the inhibition zone formed. The results showed that the diameter of the barrier against Escherichia coli bacteria at a concentration of 15% was 16.75 mm; 20% is 17.27 mm; 25% is 17.72 mm; and 30% is 18.09 mm, and the diameter of the barrier against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria at a concentration of 15% is 15.61 mm; 20% is 16.19 mm; 25% is 17.34 mm, and 30% is 18.58 mm. The results of the study showed that the ethanol extract of putri malu leaves (Mimosa pudica L.) had antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli and Stapylococcus aureus bacteria.
